Michiana Air Activities is a member-run flying club built for people who love aviation and want a simple, affordable way to fly. For over four decades, we’ve brought together pilots, students, instructors, and enthusiasts to share aircraft, build skills, and support one another in a welcoming community.
As a non-profit organization based at Elkhart Municipal Airport, we focus on access, safety, and learning, not profit. Our members enjoy well-maintained aircraft, a culture of responsibility, and a supportive environment where pilots at every stage can grow with confidence.
Flying is more affordable than you think! Flying clubs offer one of the most affordable ways to participate in flying, and the MAA is no exception. Our long history and sound financial position allow us to minimize the up-front costs. Once you have your license, ongoing costs can be less than a cable bill, including membership and 12 hours of flying a year.
There are dozens of small airports in Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio that turn weekend trips by car into day trips, and day trips by car into morning trips by air. Take your Mom sightseeing along the Chicago shoreline; take your spouse to lunch at Rick’s Boatyard Cafe near Indianapolis; take your kids to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo Museum; take the family to Mackinac Island or Put-in-Bay, Ohio. Flying opens up a whole new perspective on Michiana.
To join the MAA, complete an Application, and bring the application and supporting documentation to a monthly membership meeting. The MAA meets on the Third Thursday of every month.
